About Us
WAYYY back in 1751, when folks weren’t woke and drinking Gin wasn’t dope, English artist William Hogarth woke up, chose to be salty and published two prints for the world; Beer Street (yay) and Gin Lane (nay). That was the day gin ka naam mitti mein mil gaya.
He played us dirty and made Gin Lane look like the worst place to be, full of death, despair and misery, while Beer Street was poppin’, thrivin’ and rockin’. It was state propaganda (deja vu?), and unfortunately for us Ginners, it stuck…FOR 2.7 CENTURIES!
270 years later, the reality of Gin has changed drastically (why else would you be here celebrating World Gin Day with us? ;)). It’s about time the most popular depiction of it changed as well. Koi Gin ko gaali de, ye hum hone nahi denge.
